About Me

I am a single LDS (mormon) guy from Kaysville, Utah, by way of Mesa, Arizona. My dream vacation is to see 30 baseball games in 30 days in 30 different stadiums. Since I can’t be Billy Bean (Brad Pitt in Moneyball), I decided to be a financial counselor and a personal finance blogger.

I come from a large family. I have 5 brothers and 2 sisters. I am a middle child. I had a bunch of debt, so I blog about it. I consider myself an expert in running up debt and paying it off.

I am finally doing what I love, working as a full-time financial counselor. I recently opened the doors to a new business, Utah Debt Solutions, in which I help people by teaching them how to get out of debt: Teach. Support. Encourage.

In 2010, I began a journey toward becoming debt-free. Along my journey I felt it wise to consult the leadership of my church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) and follow their counsel regarding personal finance, money, and specifically debt. I felt inspired to create a blog where I could share my journey with others, as well as share the guidance and counsel offered by the leaders of the church, past and present, and the counsel of God as it is written in the scriptures.

In addition to sharing my journey and my experiences, I will share the things I am currently learning and applying in my own personal life that are helping me become closer to my goal of financial independence. In creating this blog I hope to inspire many others to embark on their own journey toward freedom from debt.

Freedom from worry.
